On the back of both versions there are instructional diagrams on how to create makeup looks using that particular palette. With the addition of the two matte-transitional shades, each palette is now 0.35 oz (or 10g) which is a small increase from the old 0.3 oz (or 8.5 grams). It functions similar to a book in a sense. Instead of opening upward with the hinge at the top of the palette, it swings left with the hinge on the left-hand side. The packaging on these palettes is a little different than what I’m used to seeing. For the newer version there is an added bonus of two matte shades whereas the old palette had only shimmers. After swatching the two palettes, I didn’t notice much, if any, difference in the quality or pigmentation of the shadows. The first thing I noticed was that one of the eyeshadow palettes is a reformulated and repackaged version of an older Wet n Wild palette called “Comfort Zone.” I do not believe you are able to still get the old formula of this palette but I compared the old and the new and the major difference between the two (other than the packaging) is two additional colors were added as matte transitional shades. If you are interested in picking up these palettes, my recommendation is to wait for them to be on sale usually you can get them at the drugstore or Ulta on sale for buy one get one 50% off and sometimes a coupon can be added to the mix as well. Recently I discovered the Wet n Wild Color Icon eyeshadow palettes in my collection and I thought that I would try them out and give my thoughts on them.Įach individual palette retails for $4.99 and can be purchased at places like CVS, Walgreens, Target and Ulta. I am always searching for eyeshadow palettes that give you the most bang for your buck without sacrificing quality.
